I made up my mind since I left Hawaii. Travelling alone does give transformation of heart.

This is the last week of class, and it lit up my memory of the Hawaiian promise.

Endings:

Personal Style: She cried and destroyed the barrier. Welcome to the house of friendship. "Always remember to say I DON'T CARE THE FUCK"

Digital Photography: Won all the quotas in Rice 48th Art Exhibition. Yet they are unimportant. Only does the price you placed on my photos matter. You did not even plan to sell them, and I earned a handful of wealth.

Popping Dance: Finally found the mood and feeling, best dance night ever. Understanding the music is merely superior to indulgence. Feel alive!

Precious memories need no more wordy redundancy. Here we go and carry on. Fly that unsettled soul. See you later!

PR
Quite a bit since my last post. Gosh, my blogs are not even coherent with wat I am learning in class...gotta catch up! To recap, Imma goin thru 5 outfits of myself today.

No.1-Poky Time!

My American favorite. I love green for no reason and do not even challenge me on that. I bought the cap and sneakers at the same time. They kinda match my personal philosophy, no kidding. Look playful and happy, but a lot going on as moved in.  As you may not see in the picture, the bottom of the "tongue" of the cap is green. I focused on the bottom of the sneakers here so the poker desgined are extraggerated. Well, my bad, fashion meets no exaggeration. I lined white up with grey-blackish patterns a lot to make sure that the color does not mean clean but engergetic. The grey sporting pants serves functionally in this schema, if you have not figured out already. (dance pants) But it also goes really well with the designs---dark color basic is always a choice of bottom.

No.2-Forget about the pump

Favorite of the semeter. Inspired by one of the dancers from Boa's "Energetic", I decided to mix schemas from classic to urban. "Stage at the racks". Plain white-T and straight jeans with causual wash is an ideal base to start off with, and I have worked out a lot of outfits with this base since I take the style class, handy and neat. Tie and hat hit the jeans with formality.Black&white checks buffer the confilict, creating an integrity on top, preventing the distraction from jeans. Finally shiny blackinish shoes and watches present entertainments in the most classic way. Black and white are so epic,  that I could pull different combinations of them at three spots in one outfit.

No.3-There goes the neighbourhood

Probably the closest definition of my "old style". Expressive, playful and casual. I like the Tshirt a lot, good color and interesting illustration. The sexy hat easily spice up the hurmor. The army shorts are originally good fit with black top, and, yeah, any kinds of black Tshirt as you can see. Addidas Campus Evolution for a collection of all the colors, which is my usual approach of picking footwear. I usually have a tripot in my room for the ease of photography, as you can see.

No.4-Drawing b[l]ack

This is not a recent photo but it is one of the styles that I am consistent with. Multilayered top and slim pants. Very basic but also challenging because I never want to look like anybody else. Thus this method traces back to the preliminary state before taking the class---awareness of details. Start picking up words, fonts and accessories, always making difference with a preserved theme. Should've been putting this pic in the beginning to show the effect of personal style class.

No.5 and Conclusion----save later for better
(Sorry guys if 'skinny trend' sounds too ignorant, but ya'll would know what I mean)

This is a fashion world with highest tolerance and suplendid craziness, boundary has become an ambigious term. Styling long and skinny is not the priviledge for female anymore. Although still suffer from some discrimination, men do look amazomg in shape. So...

Do it ur way and fxxk wat 'em say! (My style class teacher did not teach me this, with words.)

Here are some designer examples to for start-off deconstruction:

===PRADA SP11===

Don't ever take this as any normal formality. Despite its perfect fitness on the model, this outfit is completely inspiring: It looks like a formal on top, but the skinny pants are actually low-cut to lengthen the body. So do the shoes----leather on top and sneaker at bottom. Now back to the top, there must be something that make the low-cut of the pants invisible. Yes, the 3-button-vest! It takes great advantage of the medium part of his body, exploiting the skinniess and length.

Besides from the same genius of lower body lengthening from the 1st example, this outfit played a neat horizontal line on the collar level. This is obviously smart minimalism. In these two outfits the designer successfully expressed the trend for new men's fashion in both classic and minimalist way, prada does pay the money for the quality.

===JOHN VAVARTOS===
(Copyright: http://www.johnvarvatos.com/)
Fall/Winter 2011

I am not a big fan of American designers. However this high-fashion designer John Varvatos is too talented to say no to. If the Prada designer exhibits the skinny trend in unique timeless style, then Varvatos goes the opposite way----Various, fushionist and fancy. Hats and gloves add some Texan flavor, however each outfit also has its own craziness. I especially like the middle one---in comparison to the first outfit from prada's, the triple vesting does as perfect as a triple buttoned vest.
Collarless tying makes the smell of wildness is irrestable, which is nothing like the prada counterpart.

Spring/Summer 2011

I remembered that one of my friends told me pants are good for any season, and now I begin to understand why, although partly. White pants! Shinny and catchy, they are sunshine's best lover. Again, my favorite falls in between, and I actually tried a similar outfit in boston this weekend. Still skinny, but sharp and neeat. Surprisingly, his facial hair does not destroy the tone, instead, it sheds a light of matureness to the whole.

-----------MY TRY

I do street style quite often, but skinny is not a character of me. With this entry, I decide to try something new. Also, my euthusiasum in black&white has reemerged this year.
Tying the belt? in the back gives a good shape without buttoning in the front( which is shown in the picture above.

Apparrently someone did not tie the shoelaces well lol White does not give mercy, while black makes fraut unseen. This is just a fundamental rule when you want to play with black and white pieces!

---End---

The hell-like weeks had made me dead for posting entries. For personal style I mean it and prefer doing nothing than crampping like a college student. I did, though, take some style pictures for my friend. Here is his blog--- http://styleconfucius.blogspot.com/

For indefinable style, I would have to be uncreative about it because my traits for street style is fairly observable. Plus I am too poor for high fashion and too conservative for eclectic. ( But I am working on them, not gonna lie! )

In less than half a year I happened to visit New York for twice. Everybody knows what New York means for fashion, and the stores are just as fashionable as what is inside. I like this modern form of honesty. Go ahead and pull out some pictures I took:

AE---I wish they carry more stuffs as cool as the ad.

Street shots+Me

didn't do really well on this picture. But red looks extremely good on women or with black.Double-winner right there.

Busy enough, no repetition allowed.

Unconditional collar band!

Uniqlo's J+ ----mastery of buttons over denim

Coat like this is everywhere in NYC except this coat gives shiny edges and extra details in between the collars---well, you actually need to physically see the coat to tell. And this piece is much thinner than regular ones, but the warmth stays the same.(Uniqlo always statisfies me) I wish I have brought a slimmer pair of pants with me, which will fit the lines of the coat even better.

Too cold to open my eyes in Toronto.

I don't know if the picture says enough, but this designer coat comes from the brand Julius by Tatsuro Horikawa. A style identified by usage of blacknwhite without symmetric shape. And he is bold on collars. The coat I was wearing has embedded wire in the upper edge, giving infinite variation of choice on the collar. Here is the newest collection for his design: http://coutequecoute.blogspot.com/2009/06/julius-by-tatsuro-horikawa-springsummer.html

I will shoot more for street style in Toronto, sry if the article has overwhelmed you with my boring face. Anyways, street style is indefinable, it variates from price to color. The key point is get excited for life, WALK PROUD.

It's been a while since my last entry(peer procrastination booo)

I am going to examine three but not the only three all-time-celebrated styles---Classic, Bohemian and Minimalist

Classic
Men

As one would expect, classic has the longest history among the 3. In fact, as early as the Roaring 20s, men's suit set the stage of men's calssic outfit. The suit survived the decades and overcame the gaps between continents, enjoying a global popularity.

To avoid making educational articles in my blog, I will not go into the history or evolution of classic style. However, there is a link if anyone is interested in seeing more:
http://www.1920s-fashion-and-music.com/mens-suits.html

Classic style has become affordable, yet celebraties still lead the style partly because they are frequent and generous exploiter of the style. Thus today I will choose Akon as our model.

I will not introduce the style in the usual approach of explaining the selection of the suit. Instead, I want to talk about the one thing that makes the difference. Accessory is extremely important in identifying one's style in classic outfit. It/They should never be overwhelming or redundant. The aim of accessories is a spark that immediately luminate you from the crowd.

In the first picture, Akon pulled out a black-n-white classic suit(believe me it is not because of the black-n-white photo, this is the outfit from his returning album freedom). I chose a picture specially emphasize on the upper body. The pocket cloth is a common yet effective tool to enrich the classy feeling of the well-define-edged suit. To show the wideness of his body, Akon wore a skinny tie which gave contrastive effect of making him look buffy but not skinny. The earwear is very smart and especially suitable for his skin color. He made good use of one's skin color to express his self-esteemness----by the way, no one should be shamed of it. The pair of stiff colored sunglasses adds power to him. With only 3 little accesories, Akon's outfit makes him look extraordinarily "sharp"

Here is a fair example. However the outfit satisfies the context---Dell computers are straight forward, simple and practical.

Women
Women's classic outfit is more flexible than men, giving them a lot of choices and variations. And thus pulling a decent classic female outfit is an award for a woman. Due to my limited knowledge of my counter gender, I will simply post some photos for referrence and leave you guys a chance to appreciate( I will do the same thing for the next 2 styles)

The model is my favorite Japanese singer Ayumi Hamasaki(Dahhhhh Loooooveeee

I chose two distinct but similar ones, hope it works.

Bohemian
Men
To be honest, I do not know a lot about Bohemian, you can look it up on wikipedia, but the key Bohemian feature is antinormal/traditional and wild-like.

Rockstars and Hippies are significant Bohemian figures and their pictures are very easy to find. Here I picked a Hippie picture that is somewhat "untradtional"

This outfit still keeps the central "natrual" feeling of Behemianism, without the exaggeration of color, which is heavily ultilized by Hippies. Although Hair is not technically an outfit, it plays an essential role in Bohemian---it is either long or explosive and always wild. The genius in this picture---yes, again, the accessory.  Notice the small leather bag in front of this guy's chest, leather can either give a feeling of natrual or high-class, and in this bag the colorful Bohemian edges( do not ask me what exactly is bohemian, here it is!) clearly locate the leather into the first category. The design of the sleeves is also very often seen in Bohemian outfits. This representation of Behemian style gives a smooth and comfortable feeling, removing the bias that Bohemian style is always visual-invasively colorful.

Women
Again, I am giving out examples that tells you what Bohemian can do, but not what people think Bohemian does----graceful wildness

Minimalist
Men
Simple and clean---minimal definition of minimalism. My favorite style out of the three. In an era of overwhelming brands and logos, minimalism provides brand-free space for stylish aspiration. In particular, Japanese clothing carries abundant examples.

(Uniqlo +J Collection copyrighted)
Do not be deceived by the flaming hair---this pair is definitely minimalist.

Using the least color combination, the left picture exhibits a good example of how minimalist differs from classic. Minimalists do not ask for sharpness and formality, and they use the very detailed information to surduce eyeballs. Uniform texture and simple lining throughout the outfit leaves no space of blame. The only different element, the vest, picks a comservative shape:solid color with long button lines( vest usually does not have four buttons). YET! The vest is made to be the gateway to surprise! The innermost layer gives a two-piece v-neck expression  which is so unique that no other complicated combination can be as impressive. Complete beauty of minimalist.

Now the right. Straight coat with no fany shaping in the waist. Absence of central buttons avoid distraction and natrually directes a sense of simmetric---BUT! Again this +J collection gives us a surplus! The left side of the coat has two pockets, immediately extract this coat from a thousand of coats. In the inner layers, round edges are more conservative and thus do not disturb the whole picture. No one can miss the middle line, and everyone will tell how special the simple coat is in the most common comparisons.

(There is no way for me to resist +J Collections)
